Miho Althea Kim

Senior Coordinating Council Representative, DataCenter

Miho Althea Kim is executive director of DataCenter. Kim has led the development of "Research Justice" as DataCenter's theory and practice of social change, and integrated "research'"capacity-building, grounded in popular education approaches, into a larger community-development framework. Kim is responsible for developing DataCenter's Shared Leadership Model. She also coordinates the "Sharing Leadership in Our Organizations" working group, comprised of Bay Area community organizations and agencies, a venue for peer support and resources exchange for nonprofit organizations exploring innovative strategies to strengthen sustainable organizational collective leadership. In 2008, Kim received the Women's Human Rights Award in Japan.

Philanthropy’s Tool Shed: Offers participants the chance to explore a broad range of new tools available for grantmakers, in a direct, hands-on way. Through live demonstrations provided by leaders in the field, experience firsthand how a particular tool works.
